When things are meant to be, the stars align and miracles unfold. In taking the initiative towards this dream, I have attracted others who share the same vision.
We are now a TEAM...A team that shares the same philosophy. Learning begins with relationships and blossoms with creativity. We value relationships and individuality. We are professionals. We share a common passion for supporting nurturing and caring for children and seeing them reach their full potential. Together with our individual strengths and enthusiastic personalities we bring our own creative incentives to our programs.
I am blessed to have such an absolutely incredible team of staff members. The strength and personalities of the Educators at The Mulberry Bush is what initiated the success of our programs and is what sets us apart to this day.
The level of care, patience, compassion, creativity, and hard work that our staff members put into their jobs, shows the parents here each day that their children are being cared for by individuals who are truly meant to be in the field of childcare.
Please read our staff BIO's for insight into the individual experience, personalities, and values of our Team Members. Finding, screening, and training the right people to be responsible for the care of these little ones is something that I've taken very seriously. Having said that , I am incredibly proud of my staff and feel honored to be working with them each and everyday. It is an amazing feeling to walk through the center and see smiles, hear laughter, and witness incredible learning experiences that all come from the passion that goes into each one of our very important jobs.
My husband, Marc, and I have been married for over 26 years. We have two strong and independent children that fill our lives with joy everyday. We worked together in cancer care for over 20 years until a family tragedy made me reconsider my career choice. I have been with the Mulberry Bush Child Care since 2008. As an Early Childhood Educator and Family Child Care Provider my goal is to provide a safe and happy environment for each child that will stimulate the physical, intellectual, multicultural, social, and emotional growth at their own pace. I offer loving care that focuses on each child as a unique and wonderful individual and in doing so, building self esteem and respect for others. As a mentor I share my experience and knowledge with providers to help them with all aspects of the childcare profession. My purpose is to improve and promote quality child care and better communication between parents and providers. My incredible staff members help me tremendously in this endeavor.
Celebrating over 6 years of companionship, my fiancé and I are blessed with a lively 9-year-old step-daughter and a spirited two-year-old son. Holding a BA in Sociology and an Early Childhood Education Diploma, I kick-started my journey as a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in Chatham, Ontario. Upon relocating to London in 2017, I dedicated myself to full-time RECE roles in both preschool and toddler classrooms, accumulating nearly a decade of invaluable classroom experience.
Committed, enthusiastic, and reliable, I believe in the inherent kindness, curiosity, and capabilities of children. Armed with proficiency in the How Does Learning Happen Document, I take pleasure in applying it within our programs. As I join Mulberry Bush in February 2020, I am excited about the opportunity to learn, grow, and contribute to the collective journey alongside the children, staff, and families. Mulberry Bush is more than an organization; it's a big, loving family, and I am proud to be a part of it, as I continue to cultivate my skills as a director.

I love how the learning never ends, that you get to witness curiosity and creativity, and you go home feeling like you had an impact on a young, growing mind. I do not take that for granted. Children have so much wonder, joy, and imagination and what better way to spend your days than to be a part of that!
I am extremely excited to be joining the Mulberry Bush family and can’t wait to start my journey here as a Program Support Educator.

Hello! I am Thepuli Jayaweera, hailing from the beautiful island of Sri Lanka, where my favorite pastime is going to the beach. Coming from a close-knit extended family, many of whom are educators in different countries, I was naturally drawn to the field of early childhood education. This passion for teaching and my love for children led me to make the move to Canada in 2019, pursuing a diploma in early childhood education at Fanshawe College.
Working with children has always brought me immense joy, and I consider it a privilege to support them through their early childhood development. Witnessing the step-by-step improvement of a child's skill level is a source of great satisfaction for me. In April 2022, I joined Mulberry Bush, and I am excited to be a part of this community. I look forward to working with each child and their families as I continue my journey in early childhood education.

In 2021, I graduated from Fanshawe College with a Diploma in Early Childhood Education, fulfilling my childhood dream of becoming an educator. Complementing this achievement, I hold a Higher National Diploma in Psychology and a Diploma in Child Psychology. The personal reward and satisfaction of guiding children through their formative years are among the top reasons I chose a career in early childhood education.

In my approach to childcare, I firmly believe that all children have the opportunity to enhance their personal strengths. My philosophy is rooted in promoting learning by allowing the children to guide their own interests. By keenly observing their common play interests, I create learning opportunities based on these experiences. I view children as their best leaders, and I find myself learning just as much alongside them each day.
I am enthusiastic about the prospect of creating a warm and enriching experience for all children at the Mulberry Bush centre, having joined in March 2023. I look forward to fostering a positive learning environment and continuing to grow together with the children each day.

Hi everyone, my name is Abby!
I graduated from Fanshawe College in 2019 with a Developmental Service Worker diploma. I then went on to study at Western University, where I graduated with a bachelor of arts degree majoring in Disability Studies and minoring in Thanatology. I am very excited to be attending Western Teachers College in September 2023, where I will pursue my passion for teaching children.
I have worked in this field for 4 years, I love working with all ages and being able to witness the growth of each child. I believe that it is crucial we teach and give children the tools they need to be able to engage and navigate the world around them. As educators we can fulfill this by fostering equity, diversity and inclusion in the classroom. I am a strong advocate for creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all children and I am looking forward to doing that at Mulberry Bush!
